Since November 2006, additional security regulations for transporting liquids in carry-on baggage apply. This includes all kinds of beverages, foams, deodorants, perfumes, pastes (such as toothpaste or lotions), shampoos, creams, sprays, soups, syrups and oils. This applies just the same for items of a similar consistency, for example, liquid mascara or lip gloss.

A container to be transported must not contain more than 100 millilitres of liquid. Items must also be packed in a transparent, resealable 1-litre bag, such as a zip-lock freezer bag, and be completely sealed. Exceptions apply for medications and baby food: These items do not need to be sealed in a bag.

Please take one – and only one – bag with you on your flight. This must be presented separately at the security check. You may carry duty-free items purchased at EU airports or on board the aircraft of an EU airline with you as long as they are in a transparent and sealed bag.
