What items are not allowed in hand baggage?

Sharp and pointed objects such as knives, scissors or tools, firearms, toy weapons and similar items may not be carried in your hand baggage.

If you have any further questions, the staff at baggage drop-off or your airline will of course be happy to help you.

What regulations apply to liquids in hand baggage?

A container to be transported must not contain more than 100 milliliters of liquid. It must also be packed in a transparent, resealable 1-liter bag – for example a freezer bag with a zip closure – and be completely closed. Exceptions apply to medicines and baby food: you can take these with you without a bag.

Please take only one – not several – bags with you on your flight.

What can I do with items that are not allowed on board?

If you are carrying an item that is classified as dangerous, we will return it to you on request for a fee of 5 euros. You will find envelopes and a letterbox directly at the security checkpoint. Please understand that we are not allowed to send dangerous goods or lighters.

What is the baggage allowance?

The baggage regulations – and therefore the amount of free baggage – vary depending on the airline and class of transportation.

If the free baggage allowance is exceeded, an excess baggage regulation applies per kilogram of excess weight. Your airline will be happy to inform you about the exact rates.

Where can I check in my bulky baggage?

A special bulky baggage counter is available for bulky baggage. This is located in the terminal at check-in counter 14. Please notify your airline of any bulky baggage or animal transport in good time before departure.

Incidentally, you can also take baby carriages up to a certain size as hand baggage if they pass through the scanner at the security checkpoint. Otherwise, simply check the stroller in as baggage.

When does the check-in counter open?

The check-in counters are usually open around one hour before departure for scheduled flights. On Turkish Airlines, they even open three hours. For vacation flights, the counters usually open two hours before departure.

Can I check in the evening before?

No airline currently offers check-in the evening before at Lake Constance Airport.
