Flughafen Friedrichshafen GmbH shares its premises with many busy bees.
Our approximately 500,000 bees live in 10 beehives and are lovingly cared for by beekeeper Harald Loichinger from Friedrichshafen. The bees find a variety of food sources on our species-rich site and we are delighted to be able to give these hard-working, vital animals a home.
For years, there has been a worldwide decline in bees, which are so vital for us. Bees play a crucial role in our ecosystem and are responsible for pollinating around a third of all agricultural crops, as well as hundreds of thousands of other plants that serve as a food source for other living creatures. That is why we offer these unique animals a home with us and thus make a valuable contribution to nature conservation.
