Our environmental policy
Environmental protection and business activities go hand in hand at Flughafen Friedrichshafen GmbH (FFG).
Environmental protection and business operations go hand in hand at Flughafen Friedrichshafen GmbH (FFG). That is why we have been continuously improving our environmental performance for years through optimized processes and ever cleaner modern technology.
In 2003, Bodensee-Airport Friedrichshafen was the first regional airport in Germany to be certified in accordance with the EC Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) and entered in the EMAS register. This means that environmental protection is practiced and constantly monitored. This includes annual updates and constant improvements in the Environmental management.
The environmental impact of air traffic is a global challenge. As a partner in air traffic, we as a service company face up to the global tasks of environmental protection within the scope of our possibilities.
We operate Friedrichshafen Airport with a conscious sense of responsibility for the environment. We use natural resources sparingly and carefully, constantly reduce our environmental impact and avoid environmental pollution as far as possible. We also aim to mitigate and adapt to climate change. Furthermore, we cooperate with the rail, road and waterway modes of transport so that the respective strengths are creatively and forward-looking networked.
Based on this objective, a wide range of environmental protection aspects are taken into account in the planning and daily operation of Friedrichshafen Airport. In particular, every effort is made to minimize the negative effects of air traffic as far as possible.
We have defined the following principles:
These environmental guidelines apply to the site and the activities of Flughafen Friedrichshafen GmbH.
Embark on your next flight with a clear conscience – for us at Bodensee-Airport Friedrichshafen, responsibility is more than just a word.
